Statements
The World Peace Council (WPC) condemns strongly the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel and transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The US decision is a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions on the status of the city as part of occupied Palestinian territories. The decision is a proof of the bias of the leader of world imperialists and of his open support to the Israeli occupation and of its continuation.
The WPC denounces vehemently to the peace loving people of the world this act of trying to change the facts on the ground unilaterally and arbitrarily. The situation in the whole Middle East will be affected if the USA will maintain its position which is triggering the escalation.
WPC reaffirms its principle position for a just and viable solution of the conflict with the immediate end of the occupation of Palestine by Israel and the establishment and recognition of the independent State of Palestine within the borders of pre-4th June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital. We demand the right for the return of the refugees according to the UN resolution 194 and the release of all Palestinian political prisoners from Israeli jails.
We demand the recognition of Palestine as a full member State of the UN!
