BRING THE MYANMAR MILITARY TO JUSTICE

TAKE ACTION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

BRING THE MYANMAR MILITARY TO JUSTICE

In the past 10 months, the plight of the Rohingya has gone from bad to worse. They face deeper perils with each passing day. The Myanmar military have engaged in human rights abuses that amount to ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.
Don’t let perpetrators get away with their crimes.
Almost one year ago, Myanmar security forces swept through hundreds of Rohingya villages, killing women, men, and children; raping women and girls; and hauling men and boys to detention sites where they were tortured. Soldiers burned Rohingya homes, shops, and mosques and forced more than 700,000 people to flee across the border to Bangladesh. These are crimes against humanity.
So far, the Myanmar military have gotten away with their crimes. This needs to change now.
We have identified 13 individuals suspected of playing a key role in these crimes, either as direct perpetrators or under command responsibility in Myanmar. The United Nations must now prepare for future criminal proceedings.
